However, golden eggs aside, there’s no denying that Craft Irish is putting Irish whisky back on the world stage. This is because it could be (quite easily) argued that the Fabergé additions to the set had a big influence on the final sum. Although Craft Irish Whiskey Co.’s Emerald Isle Collection - created in collaboration with legendary jeweler Fabergé -broke records in March 2021 when the hammer hit for $2m, purists may debate its place at the top. However, while Scotland has typically dominated in recent years, the nation’s Celtic neighbor over the sea has seen an impressive resurgence. As a result, it is the whisky of this small nation that makes up the majority of our shortlist of the most expensive whisky ever sold. With eye-watering bids and endless news of broken auction records continuing to dominate the industry’s headlines, it is predominantly Scotch whisky that commands the mightiest price tags.
